  100_1660.jpg - Izalco volcano, as seen from Cerro Verde. There are better pictures on the Internet from this vantage point. I t was hazy and dark when I got to see this. I plan to do a day trip to Cerro Verde park where you can take a walking tour to Izalco. This photo was actually taken from a now-defunct hotel on Cerro Verde. The hotel's main claim to fame was being able to see Izalco volcano errupt with plumes of lava. Right as the hotel opened, the erruptions stopped. The hotel was later heavily damaged by an earth quake and is no longer in operation, although you can see the remnents of it from the park.
