| This shows the Washington Ave bridge. The lower deck is far car traffic. The upper deck is for bikes and pedestrians. In the background, you see two brown twin towers. One of them is a Carlson School of Management building (not the new one) and the other is the Social Sciences tower. Further back, you can see McKnight tower - a large apartment complex... my home... |

| A view of the Washington Ave bridge deck. You can see that there is a indoor walkway available. This comes in handy during the winter. As I understand... Before the energy crisis of the 1970s, they heated the bridge. |

| A view from the bridge. On the right, you can see three smoke stacks. This is one of two University of MInnesota steam plants. The railroad bridge is no longer used for trains... |

| Another view from the bridge. There is a park area along the river. Behind it, you see an apartment building. To the left, you can see a construction crain - they are working on the Minnesota Library Access Center. Most of the facility is underground - they basically dug a cave along the river. This keeps the temperature and humidity stable for better storage of old books. |
